"Seeing Is Believing" is a project created from the realization that the beauty of our world often blinds us to the environmental crises happening all around us. During a transformative trip to Hawaii in the summer of 2021, I witnessed a culture deeply committed to preserving the environment, not just through individual actions but as an entire community. The island’s dedication to environmental protection opened my eyes to what it means to be mindful of the earth. It contrasted sharply with the widespread environmental degradation I’ve seen elsewhere, where the drive for development and profit often overshadows the need for preservation. This project uses the juxtaposition of imagery and sound to confront viewers with the reality of environmental neglect.
